Guiding Principles

JAGGARTA is a “Development Oriented Local Organization working to support the most vulnerable
segment of the society suffering from men made or natural disasters by building their skills to cope with
these unforeseen catastrophes and pandemics. JAGGARTA has its major interventions in the Sectors of
Education, Climate Change, WASH, disaster risk management, Community based Infrastructure especially
Low-Cost Shelters, Capacity Building of Stakeholders and Livelihood Opportunities by ensuring Women
Inclusion & Networking. JAGGARTA has its presence in 7 districts of Sindh and implemented various
projects. Currently implementing its ongoing projects in 3 districts of Sindh being active member of CSO
alliances JAGGARTA has Membership with various Alliances Networking which includes International and
National level Organizations.

Strategic Thrusts

Education

 To provide access to quality education for all and to increase literacy rates, especially among disadvantaged and marginalized communities. This can be achieved through programs such as school construction, teacher training, and provision of educational materials.

Food Security and Nutrition:

To ensure that all people have access to adequate, nutritious food and to reduce malnutrition, especially among children and women. This can be achieved through programs such as agriculture development, food distribution, and nutrition education.

Live hoods

To enhance the economic well-being of communities and to reduce poverty, especially among marginalized groups. This can be achieved through programs such as job training, microfinance, and enterprise development.

Emergency Disaster Risk Reduction:

To prepare communities for disasters and to reduce the impact of disasters when they occur. This can be achieved through programs such as disaster preparedness training, early warning systems, and provision of emergency supplies.

Climate Change:

To mitigate the impact of climate change on communities and to promote adaptation to its effects. This can be achieved through programs such as reforestation, renewable energy development, and climate-resilient agriculture.

Water Sanitation and Hygiene:

To improve access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation and to promote hygiene practices, especially in rural and undeserved areas. This can be achieved through programs such as water system construction, hygiene education, and distribution of hygiene supplies

Low-Cost Shelters:

To provide safe and affordable housing for vulnerable populations, especially those affected by displacement or natural disasters. This can be achieved through programs such as construction of low-cost housing units, provision of building materials and technical assistance, and community-based housing development initiatives. The objective is to ensure that everyone has access to a secure and adequate place to live, regardless of their
economic status.

Emergency Relief:

To respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, such as natural disasters, conflict, or disease outbreaks, and to provide lifesaving assistance to affected populations. This can be achieved through programs such as provision of food, water, shelter,  and medical aid, as well as support for longer-term recovery  efforts. The objective is to alleviate suffering and protect the rights and dignity of those affected by emergencies, and to support their return to a state of normalcy as soon as possible
